Silver Star Healing Arts proudly announces support for Piyara Kutta, a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization, whose mission is to improve the lives of street dogs in Dharmasala, India.

For each session you schedule, you will also be directly benefiting the Piraya Kutta programs.  Silver Star Healing Arts has generously offered to donate a percentage from each first session, as well as from each 3-session & 10-session packages, purchased to support their efforts and programs.

Piyara Kutta

Today, there are more than 7000 dogs living in the streets of the Kangra Valley with no veterinarian services available.  In order to control the population of the strays and the spread of rabies, the government has resorted to “poisoning” instead of running spay/neuter and vaccination clinics.  40,000 people die per year in India of rabies, including 3 in Dharmasala in just the past month, which has led to locals trying to kill street dogs with metal posts.

In hopes of changing this inhumane treatment of animals, Piyara Kutta was formed to partner with Arvind Sharma and the Himalayan Nature Society of India.  They are striving to raise money to build a permanent clinic to treat up to 10 dogs per day, recruit veterinarians, hold community awareness programs, run ABC camps (animal birth control) and make sure all dogs are rabies free.  For more information about Piyara Kutta, please visit their website http://www.piyarakutta.org.
